Veterinary Services

Dr. Robert Cocanour will serve as the Official ARBA Convention Veterinarian and will be available to perform domestic and international health examinations and certifications at the following times:

​Monday, October 31st         9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Tuesday, November 1st      9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Interstate Health Certificates
Exhibitors requesting interstate health certificates for rabbits and cavies are encouraged to download and complete the USDA APHIS 7001 Certificate of Health Examination for Small Animals.  To expedite the veterinary health check and certification process, please have this form completed and in hand before visiting Dr. Cocanour.  Note that only six animals per page are allowed; download and complete additional copies to include your entire needs.

The cost for each health examination is $15 per rabbit or cavy and is to be paid in cash at the time of the veterinary health check.

International Health Certificates
Exhibitors requesting international health certificates for rabbits and cavies shall have the following information in-hand before visiting with Dr. Cocanour for the health examination and certification:
1) Import permit from the destination country
2) Specific language required by the destination country which is to be included in the “Remarks or Additional Certification Statements” section of the USDA APHIS 7001 Certificate of Health Examination for Small Animals
3) Date of expected embarkation of the rabbits or cavies from the United States
 
A representative from the USDA will not be present at the ARBA Convention to endorse international health certificates for breeders exporting animals outside of the USA.  Dr. Cocanour will electronically send international health certificates to the USDA APHIS office in Sacramento for official endorsement for exhibitors requesting this service.
 
The cost of each international health examination is $15 per rabbit or cavy, plus an additional single charge of $125 for each international health certificate.  Additionally, a $37 USDA APHIS fee for each international health certificate will be collected.  All fees are to be paid in cash at the time of the veterinary health check.
